Personal Leadership Philosophy

In this post, I will divide it into two parts: the analysis of three leaders I admire, and some reflections about my own leadership philosophy.

Elon Musk

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, is an impressive leader in technology and innovation. Using innovative approaches to achieve his career goals, he thinks outside the box. One of his outstanding achievements is the creation of the Tesla car, which has revolutionized the automotive industry and provided consumers with an unparalleled experience. As a leader, Musk is truly remarkable for his intelligence.

Furthermore, Musk's dedication to sustainability resonates with my belief in environmental responsibility and shaping a better future. With his efforts in advancing electric vehicles and Mars exploration, he has had a significant impact on the global energy landscape. His bold ideas, ability to disrupt industries, and unwavering commitment to purpose-driven projects are impressive.

Jack Ma

Jack Ma, the co-founder of Alibaba, is a highly regarded figure in the world of e-commerce and entrepreneurship, particularly in Asia. I've had the pleasure of working for Alibaba for over 12 years, witnessing in person Ma's leadership and admiring his qualities. He relentlessly focuses on empowering small businesses and fostering economic growth. The impact of his work has transformed the Chinese e-commerce industry and provided income and employment opportunities for many people.

In addition, Jack Ma is an advocate of public service. Each Alibaba employee must devote at least 3 hours per year to public service. As well as these CSR initiatives, Ma has also established his own philanthropic foundation and an online platform for public welfare. Using e-commerce and social initiatives to improve many lives. The long-term perspective he has and his dedication to creating value has inspired numerous individuals.

Louis Riel

A major figure in Canadian indigenous rights history, Louis Riel holds a significant place in Winnipeg's history and the broader Canadian context. In studying Canadian history, I have learned about Riel's unwavering commitment to building a more equitable society and his courageous stand for marginalized communities. His leadership during the Red River Resistance and North-West Rebellion demonstrated his dedication to defending Métis' rights. I deeply admire his courage, determination, and integrity.

In addition to this, Riel's ability to mobilize and unite his community in the face of adversity is truly admirable. Among his exceptional abilities is the ability to inspire and rally people within his team. My experience studying the life and leadership of Louis Riel has taught me that even in tough circumstances, it is important to encourage others and foster unity.

Through studying Elon Musk, Jack Ma, and Louis Riel, I gained a better understanding of what makes an effective leader. As an international business student, Musk's ambitions and innovations, Ma's empowerment of small businesses, and Riel's commitment to social justice have all influenced my leadership philosophy.

Personal Leadership Philosophy Reflection

Taking into account the above research and analysis combined with my dream of setting up an online beauty home services business in Canada, I believe my leadership philosophy needs to include the following:

1. Vision and Innovation: A clear vision and the desire for innovation are keys to success. My vision is for people to be able to easily access beauty services online from their homes through an online platform, but innovation is crucial for success.

2. Long-Term Growth: To build a strong and sustainable business, I believe in investing in our team's growth and development. Every employee should have the opportunity to improve their skills and achieve their goals.

3. Motivation and Inspiration: For me, leading by example, recognizing team efforts, and nurturing a sense of purpose are essential. I want to foster a supportive environment that encourages creativity in our team.

4. Integrity and Honesty: I believe in being transparent, ethical, and trustworthy in all our interactions. Building trust with our customers, team members, and partners is essential for long-term success.

5. Open-Mindedness and Adaptability: Staying ahead of the curve means embracing change, seeking feedback, and continuously improving our services. Having a diverse perspective and encouraging collaboration is important to me.

6. Task-Oriented and Employee-Centered Approach: Finding the right balance between achieving goals and supporting our team members is important. I want to set clear expectations, provide resources, and create a positive work environment.

Overall, I believe the keys to my leadership success in the online beauty home service industry in Canada are having a clear vision, embracing innovation, promoting long-term growth, motivating our team, upholding integrity and honesty, being open-minded and adaptable, and finding a balance between tasks and employee well-being. Moreover, as I acquire more managerial knowledge and as trends in this industry change, changes in my management philosophy may also occur, as flexibility is also of crucial importance.
